I am Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (Secondary) at the University of Huddersfield which is located in West Yorkshire, England. I initially began working in industry, marketing electronic components. After several years I entered the teaching profession as a Business and ICT teacher and have worked in a number of secondary schools in Rotherham and Barnsley. I have a keen interest in learning and teaching and have had the opportunity to work as a Learning Champion, Mentor, Faculty Leader and Senior Leader in secondary schools in England. Some key achievements have been to develop and implement a range of strategies to monitor data and progress across subjects, which has raised standards of attainment across schools. In addition I have developed professional development and bespoke training for both trainee and professional teachers. My research interests involve computer science education and gaming, teacher leadership, on-line learning and pedagogy.
