Sarah Pennington is a Research Assistant at the University of Huddersfield. She joined the Art, Design and Architecture School’s ROTOR team (www.research.hud.ac.uk/institutes-centres/st/rotor/) in 2016 to support public engagement opportunity creation around their exhibition programme, contributing to local cultural partnership development, writing around arts and engagement for academic papers, and evaluation of public engagement projects for external agencies.
Prior to this Sarah worked in Arts Development, devising and managing projects for agencies including the NHS Arts and Health Team, Artlink Hull, Arc Architecture Centre – to support and engage health and disability services, refugee and asylum seeker groups, schools and youth services etc. in a wide range of creative activity.
For None in Three, Sarah is covering Dr Anna Powell’s Maternity Leave, with responsibilities including recording project impact and academic outputs, and supporting the student Media Gathering Teams around information dissemination and public engagement opportunities, plus developing an Impact Case Study for the REF 2020 submission.
She is also a socially engaged, trans-disciplinary artist who completed her MA in Fine Art Practice and Research at Sheffield Hallam in 2016. Many of her projects are around women’s hidden histories and activist activity – such as work using teacups to reference the Suffragettes for a Literature Festival commission.
