New Publication from Social Sciences Journal
The None in Three Research Centre Director, Professor Adele Jones, has recently edited a collection of essays on the theme of ‘Leaving a Violent Relationship’. This has been published by the journal Social Sciences and is available online via open access.
Taken together, these essays paint a powerful picture of both the extent and the impact of intimate partner violence, which is overwhelmingly perpetrated against women by men. These essays also explore the barriers that women face in leaving violent relationships and the threats posed by both current and former partners. The book explores survivor agency and looks at both the structural and interpersonal factors which facilitate or hinder escape from abuse.
It is fitting that we announce the publication of this new book today, as today also marks the retirement of Professor Adele Jones from her post at the University of Huddersfield, and from the Directorship of the None in Three Research Centre. This book highlights many of the key issues in domestic violence that Professor Jones has dedicated her career to tackling; as a social worker, as an academic and as the inspirational leader of None in Three.
We wish Professor Jones all the best for the future and are proud to continue her legacy through the work of the Centre.
