Kristina Massey is a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Psychology, at Canterbury Christ Church University.
Kristina Massey BSc (Surrey), MSc (Kent), MSc (LSBU), PGDip (Greenwich), graduated with an MSc (Hons) degree in Forensic Psychology 2004 and subsequently worked as a research assistant for Professor Geoffrey Stephenson researching personality and addiction. After completing her MSc (Hons) in Addiction Psychology and Counselling she worked for the NHS as a Highly Specialist Alcohol Therapist within the forensic mental health division and is a Senior Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has lectured at The University of Kent, London South Bank University and the University of Surrey. She currently lecturers at Canterbury Christ Church University. She has worked as an expert witness in child protection cases and a large part of her work for the NHS involved facilitating therapy groups for women that have experienced sexual and domestic violence and training other professionals to work with sexually victimised women and survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Since 2012 she has researched with Professor Horvath of Middlesex University investigating the effects of working with victims of sexual violence. It was with Professor Horvath that she co-authored “Basically… porn is everywhere” A Rapid Evidence Assessment on the Effects that Access and Exposure to Pornography has on Children and Young People, funded by the Office of the Children’s Commissioner in 2013.
