Latest publication from Ni3 UK research team examines barriers to help seeking in relation to intimate partner violence among Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Immigrant women
The Ni3 UK research team are delighted to share the publication of their latest journal article published in Trauma, Violence and Abuse (Sage), which emerged from the qualitative research and related literature review they conducted on experiences of intimate partner violence in the UK.
This piece is a qualitative metasynthesis looking at what prevents Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Immigrant women from seeking help when they experience intimate partner violence.
It is well known that victims of intimate partner violence experience numerous barriers to leaving abusive relationships. For ethnic minority and immigrant women these barriers are significantly exacerbated. This metasynthesis explored barriers to help-seeking as experienced by Black, Asian, minority ethnic and immigrant women with experience of intimate partner violence.
